Naidu Sets November 15 Deadline for Andhra Local Polls

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has set November 15 as the target for finishing a three-part local election process.

He asked Ministers to work with the NDA’s party partners and try to win every seat.

He also wants Backward Classes to receive 34 per cent reservation in local bodies.

Naidu blamed the YSR Congress Party for legal challenges that he says delayed those reservations and the elections.

The Cabinet approved reservations based on a commission’s recommendations.

Officials will complete reservation-related steps before election preparations move forward.

The meeting also discussed how to rotate reserved Zilla Parishad chairperson seats.

Naidu said each constituency would receive Rs 1 crore for its MLA.
