Godavari Pushkaralu Ghats Expansion for 2027
The government is making the bathing areas along the Godavari River bigger and safer for a big event called Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027.
They are doubling the length of these areas so more people can take a holy dip and do their rituals.
They are also fixing the roads and making sure the water level is safe.
They are worried about deep holes from sand mining, so they will put up barriers to keep people safe.
The event is expected to have a lot more people than before, so they are preparing to handle the crowd.
Water Resources authorities are doubling the length of bathing ghats from 4,516 metres to 9,918 metres.
The number of ghats will increase to 359 to accommodate the expected 9 crore devotees in 2027.
Approach roads will be resurfaced with bitumen for smoother access.
Authorities aim to maintain a water level of 13.64 metres at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage with full reservoir storage.
Safety measures include iron barricades and fishing boats to prevent drowning in deep pits.
