Land Acquisition Rates to Rise in Noida, Greater Noida
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has told officials to raise the prices the government pays for land in Noida and Greater Noida.
Farmers have been asking for this because the current prices are much lower than what land is worth in the market.
Right now, the government pays ₹5,100 per square metre in Noida and ₹4,100 per square metre in Greater Noida.
The Chief Minister wants to increase these to ₹9,000 and ₹7,000 respectively.
This decision was made during a visit to the Noida International Airport, where the Chief Minister discussed issues with local leaders and farmers.
Farmers have been unhappy for a while because the prices have not been updated in a long time.
They also wanted the price for agricultural land to be increased, which was last raised in 2022.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to increase land acquisition rates in Noida and Greater Noida.
Current rates are ₹5,100 per square metre in Noida, ₹4,100 in Greater Noida, and ₹4,300 in Yamuna City.
Proposed new rates are ₹9,000 per square metre in Noida and ₹7,000 in Greater Noida.
Farmers have been demanding higher rates, arguing current rates are significantly lower than market prices.
