Supreme Court Grants Bail to Journalist Mahesh Langa
The Supreme Court has given temporary freedom to a journalist named Mahesh Langa who was in jail for a money-related crime.
The court said he can go free for now but must follow some rules, like not writing about his own case in the newspaper and not asking for delays in the court hearings.
The court also warned that if he breaks these rules, his freedom could be taken away.
The government's lawyer said Langa should not be freed because he is accused of taking money wrongly, but Langa's lawyer argued for his release.
The case is about some serious charges like cheating and stealing money.
The court will check again on January 6 to see if Langa is following the rules.
The Supreme Court granted interim bail to journalist Mahesh Langa in a money laundering case.
Bail conditions include not writing about the sub-judice case and not seeking adjournments.
The ED opposed the bail, arguing that Langa's actions were serious offenses.
The next hearing is scheduled for January 6, when the ED must file a status report on Langa's compliance.
Langa was previously arrested in October 2024 for a GST fraud case.
