YCMOU-Recognised Diploma in Music Therapy to Launch in Pune

A new one-year course about using music to support health will start on September 15.

The course is being offered by the Sur Sanjeevan Music Therapy Trust.

The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University recognises the diploma.

Students can study online or attend centres in Pune and Mumbai.

The course is open to people interested in music therapy and to several healthcare and social-service professionals.

Students will learn about yoga, breathing exercises, classical music and ragas.

Organisers say music therapy has been used for issues including arthritis, knee pain, asthma and developmental support for premature babies.

A free seminar will explain the course, admissions, fees and career options.
