Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, also called YSR, was the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009.

Leaders from the YSR Congress Party remembered him on his 17th death anniversary.

They said many people still remember him because of his welfare programmes.

His government also introduced pensions, houses, cheap rice, free electricity and ambulance services.

He started irrigation projects to support farmers.
