India to Become Major Air Taxi Market by 2045
India is expected to become one of the biggest markets for air taxis in the world by 2045.
A company called Skyportz says there could be 200 to 250 million air taxi trips every year in India, with Delhi alone having 40 million trips.
This could bring in about $2.5 billion in revenue.
To make this happen, India will need around 10,000 to 15,000 special landing pads, called vertipads, with Delhi needing about 2,200 of them.
These pads will help people travel faster and avoid traffic.
Skyportz has teamed up with an Indian company, Gomsons Aviation, to make this plan work.
They are also talking to other important organizations and companies in India to support this new way of traveling.
India is projected to have 200-250 million air taxi passenger trips annually by 2045.
Delhi alone is expected to account for 40 million trips and require 2,200 vertipads.
Annual passenger revenues in Delhi are projected to reach $400 million by 2045, with $2.5 billion across India.
Skyportz estimates a need for 10,000-15,000 vertipads nationwide, with 80% supporting urban commuter services.
Skyportz has partnered with Gomsons Aviation for the rollout of its Aeroberm modular vertipad system in India.
