India Post Clarifies Letter vs Parcel Rules
The Indian government has clarified the rules for what is considered a letter and what is a parcel in postal services.
Letters include written, drawn, printed items, or packages with no resale value, such as banking items, government documents, and certain greeting items up to 500 grams.
Parcels include all other items, like merchandise and commercial goods.
The Department of Post has also announced new rates for 24 Speed Post and 48 Speed Post services for both retail and bulk customers.
These services promise delivery within 24 hours and 48 hours, respectively, and are currently available in six major cities.
The rates vary based on weight and destination.
