Bengaluru Peptide Party Cancelled After Food Regulator Notice
A special event about peptides was planned in Bengaluru.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that can send signals in the body.
The event was advertised as an invite-only gathering with peptide tastings, music, food and networking.
Officials wanted to know what products would be discussed or used.
They asked about the products’ ingredients, makers, doses, safety rules and intended purposes.
They also asked whether medical supervision and emergency plans would be available.
The organisers asked for more time to provide documents.
The event was then cancelled before it was scheduled to take place.
A peptide-themed event scheduled for August 29 in Bengaluru’s Koramangala was cancelled.
The Karnataka Food Safety and Drug Administration Department sought details from organiser Upsurge Labs LLP.
Officials requested information on peptide products, including composition, manufacturers, dosage, intended use and regulatory status.
The department questioned whether the products could be promoted, supplied or administered under the event’s publicity.
Upsurge Labs requested more time to submit documents, and the department granted the request.
