Five Arrested in Rs 1 Crore Digital Arrest Scam
A group of five men, including two bank employees, tricked an 80-year-old man into giving them around Rs 1 crore.
They pretended to be officials and told the man his mobile number and Aadhaar were linked to illegal activities.
They made him close his savings, take a gold loan, and transfer all his money, promising to return it after a fake verification process.
The police arrested the men and found they used fake accounts to hide the money.
They are still looking for more people involved in the scam.
Five men, including two private bank employees, were arrested for cheating an 80-year-old man out of around Rs 1 crore.
The fraudsters impersonated officials and placed the victim and his wife under digital arrest for seven days.
The victim was forced to close fixed deposits, transfer savings, and take a gold loan, believing the money would be returned after verification.
