Akhilesh Yadav Warns Uttar Pradesh Voters of Another SIR
Akhilesh Yadav is a leader of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.
He warned that officials might check voter lists again before the 2027 state election.
He said this could lead to a new voter list.
He asked people to make sure their names and information are correct.
The Election Commission had already carried out a similar voter-list check in the state.
Yadav also criticised the government over rising prices and other issues.
He said essential goods and fuel cost more while incomes had not increased as much.
He objected to private operators receiving responsibility for the Jayaprakash Narayan International Centre.
He said an SP government would investigate that arrangement if it returned to power.
Akhilesh Yadav warned that another Special Intensive Revision could occur before Uttar Pradesh’s 2027 Assembly election.
He alleged the exercise could produce a new voter list and urged residents to verify their electoral details.
The Election Commission previously conducted an SIR in Uttar Pradesh to update voter information and remove ineligible or duplicate entries.
Yadav accused the BJP government of failing on inflation, law and order, public assets and women’s Raksha Bandhan bus arrangements.
He criticised the 30-year handover of JPNIC operations to private operators and promised an inquiry if the SP returns to power.
