Mizoram Families Face Health Scheme Obstacle Due to Ration Card Delays
Families in Mizoram are having trouble signing up for a new health plan because they can't get ration cards.
The government needs these cards for people to register for the health program.
The problem is that the computer system used to make these cards is being updated by the central government, which has caused it to temporarily stop working.
Because of this, the local department in charge of issuing ration cards can't do so right now.
The exact date when the system will be fixed is unknown.
Many people are worried they won't be able to register for the health plan before the deadline.
Many Mizoram families cannot register for the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme (MUHCS).
The FCS&CA department is unable to issue ration cards due to technical challenges.
The central government is undertaking a project called SMART-PDS which has deactivated the Ration Card Management System (RCMS).
Ration cards are required for MUHCS registration.
The registration deadline for MUHCS is June 30.
