Texas Man Sentenced Five Years Over $27 Million Tax Scheme

Aanand Shukla was sentenced to five years in prison by a Texas court.

He admitted helping run a plan to avoid paying taxes.

The plan involved selling a special trust arrangement to business owners.

It promised that people could control their money while appearing to own nothing.

The arrangement was promoted through seminars, webinars, podcasts, and sales pitches.

Some clients reportedly paid as much as $225,000.

The government said the scheme hid more than $27 million in income.

Shukla and others promoted and used the arrangement from 2017 to 2025.
