China Launches AI-Powered Satellite Constellation
China is building a giant supercomputer in space using many satellites.
They launched the first 12 satellites, and eventually, there will be 2,800.
Each satellite has its own AI brain to process information, making the whole system super powerful.
This space computer is designed to be very fast, using the cold of space to keep things cool.
China is hoping other countries will also help to develop and use this technology in the future.
It's like putting a giant computer lab in orbit to make computing faster and more efficient.
China launched the first 12 satellites of the Three-body computing constellation on May 14.
The constellation, led by ADA Space and Zhejiang Lab, will eventually consist of 2,800 satellites.
The network aims to provide a combined computing capacity of 1,000 peta operations per second.
Each satellite contains an 8 billion-parameter AI model capable of 744 tera operations per second.
The project utilizes space's natural cooling and high-speed laser communication links.
