Indore Nurses Postpone Protest After Partial Agreement
Nurses in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were planning a protest.
They called it off for now because the government agreed to restore some withheld money.
The government also said they'll look at giving the nurses a raise.
However, the nurses still want more things, like money they missed during a strike and better benefits.
If the government doesn't meet their demands within two weeks, they plan to protest again and might even go on strike.
The Madhya Pradesh Nursing Officers Association canceled its planned protest.
The Directorate of Health Services agreed to restore withheld annual increments.
A proposal for nursing officers' pay scale will be forwarded to the Pay Commission.
Remaining demands include withheld salaries, 7th Pay Commission benefits, and allowances.
A fresh gherao is planned for August 19th if demands are not met.
