Mahayuti leaders push for sons' nominations in Pimpri Chinchwad polls
In Pimpri Chinchwad, three big leaders from the Mahayuti alliance are trying to get their sons nominated for the upcoming city elections.
These leaders are Shrirang Barne from Shiv Sena, Anna Bansode from NCP, and Uma Khapre from BJP.
Each of their sons has been working with their respective parties and is hoping to get a ticket to run in the elections.
The leaders argue that their sons have been actively involved in party work and deserve the nomination.
The elections are scheduled for January 15.
Additionally, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena has announced a list of 40 star campaigners, including actor Govinda Ahuja, for the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra.
These elections are seen as a crucial test for the Shinde-led Shiv Sena, marking its first major municipal election after the party split in 2022.
Mahayuti leaders Shrirang Barne, Anna Bansode, and Uma Khapre are lobbying for their sons to receive nominations for the Pimpri Chinchwad civic polls.
Shrirang Barne's son, Vishwajeet Kadam, has sought a ticket from Thergaon and has experience as a Shiv Sena youth leader.
Anna Bansode's son, Siddharth, has been interviewed by the NCP leadership and is awaiting a decision, remaining loyal to Ajit Pawar regardless of the outcome.
Uma Khapre's son, Jaydeep, has sought a ticket from Ward No. 19 and has been involved in various BJP roles, including the sports wing and Yuva Morcha.
The Pimpri Chinchwad civic polls are scheduled to be held on January 15, with nomination papers filing beginning on Wednesday.
