Nearly 9,000 Fail Chandigarh Driving Test Amidst Strict International Standards
Getting a driver's license in Chandigarh is tough this year, with almost 9,000 people not passing their driving test.
Most of those who failed were trying to drive cars, while fewer motorcycle riders didn't pass.
The test is designed to be very challenging, like those in other countries, to make sure drivers are really skilled.
Many people find it hard to do specific moves correctly, such as turning the car around, handling a car on a ramp without it rolling back too much, or navigating tricky bends and traffic circles.
While most people learning to ride motorcycles pass the test, car drivers have a much harder time, with only about half of them passing.
Nearly 9,000 individuals have failed their driving tests in Chandigarh this year.
Of those who failed, 77% were four-wheeler drivers and 22.2% were two-wheeler riders.
A total of 26,550 people have taken the driving test in Chandigarh this year.
The pass rate for four-wheeler drivers is around 50%, while for two-wheeler riders it is 84%.
Chandigarh's driving test is described as 'toughest with international standards,' with specific challenges including gradient points, hairpin bends, and roundabouts.
