Rajasthan Judge Transferred After Ruling Against Adani-Led Firm
A judge in Rajasthan, India, named Dinesh Kumar Gupta, made a decision that said an Adani-led company had to pay a lot of money for not following a contract.
The same day, the government took him off his job and moved him to a different place.
The judge had said the Adani company should not have charged so much for transporting coal by road because they were supposed to build railway tracks.
The government and the high court then stopped the judge's decision and moved him to a different court far away.
The next hearing about this case is in January 2026.
Judge Dinesh Kumar Gupta ruled that an Adani-led firm earned over Rs 1,400 crore in unfair transportation charges.
The Rajasthan government removed Gupta from his post and transferred him to Beawar district the same day.
The Rajasthan High Court stayed Gupta's order imposing a Rs 50-lakh fine on the Adani-led firm.
The dispute involves a coal mining contract where the Adani-led firm was supposed to build railway sidings but used road transport instead.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for the last week of January 2026.
