US enforces Iran blockade, redirects 55 vessels as tensions rise

The United States and Iran are having a big disagreement, and some fighting is happening near their waters.

The US Navy is stopping ships from going to ports in Iran, which is called a blockade.

So far, American ships have turned away 55 boats, stopped two, and searched two more.

Because it is harder for oil to move through an important waterway called the Strait of Hormuz, prices have gone up, with one barrel now costing more than $84.

Iran says it will only reopen the waterway if the US meets its demands, like ending sanctions and removing the blockade.

Iran and the country of Oman are very close to signing a deal, but it is not finished yet.

President Trump says the US is staying calm and only 'semi-negotiating' with Iran, which he says is in bad economic shape.

Some groups that support Iran, called the Houthis, attacked a Saudi oil refinery and a port city in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia said the refinery fire was put out and nobody was hurt.

Leaders are still working to stop the fighting so people can be safe.
