Cachar District Imposes Night Curfew at Bangladesh Border
The government has put rules in place along the border of India and Bangladesh to keep things safe.
This means people can't move around in a certain area at night, and they also can't use the river for fishing or boating without permission.
This is to stop any bad guys from sneaking in and to prevent people from smuggling things across the border.
They are also making sure that important items like rice and oil aren't moved at night.
This will stay in place for two months.
Night-time restrictions are imposed along the India-Bangladesh border in Assam's Cachar district.
The restrictions aim to curb potential extremist movement and prevent unauthorized commodity transport.
Individuals are prohibited from moving within a 1-km border belt between sunset and sunrise.
Restrictions also apply to the Surma River, prohibiting fishing and boating without permission.
Transport of essential commodities within a 5-km border belt is forbidden during restricted hours.
