Karnataka BJP Expels Two MLAs for Anti-Party Activities
The BJP, a political party in Karnataka, kicked out two of its members, S.T. Somashekar and Arabail Shivaram Hebbar, because they were acting against the party rules.
These two used to be ministers but started supporting the Congress party instead.
The BJP said this was necessary to maintain discipline before the upcoming local elections.
A leader from the Congress party criticized the action of BJP.
BJP expelled MLAs S.T. Somashekar and A. Shivaram Hebbar for six years.
The expulsion was due to anti-party activities.
Both MLAs were former ministers who defected to the BJP in 2019.
The MLAs had aligned with the Congress party after the 2023 elections.
The expulsions come ahead of local body elections and the 2028 assembly polls.
