India's Homegrown Avionics Push Gains Momentum With New Facility
Samtel HAL Display Systems is a company created by Hindustan Aeronautics and Samtel Avionics.
It has opened a new factory in Gurugram, India.
The factory will make and test important screens and electronic systems used in aircraft.
These screens help pilots see flight, engine, navigation and mission information.
The company has already made displays used in India’s Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft.
It wants to replace more imported equipment with products made in India.
The company expects to earn about Rs 200 crore this year.
It believes its sales could grow to Rs 400-500 crore in the next three to four years.
It may also work on helmet displays and satellite-communications technology.
