Rajasthan Bulldozes Homes in Chomu After Stone-Pelting
In Chomu, Rajasthan, the government is using bulldozers to tear down homes and other illegal buildings owned by people who threw stones at police officers.
This happened because of a fight over some stones and railings near a mosque.
The police had tried to clear the stones as part of a road project, but some people didn't like it and started throwing stones.
The government says they are following the rules and have arrested 19 people so far.
They are also looking at videos to find more people who might have been involved.
The area is heavily guarded to keep the peace.
Some people support the action, while others worry that innocent people might be affected.
Authorities in Chomu, Rajasthan, are demolishing homes and illegal constructions linked to 24 identified stone-pelters.
The action follows a dispute over alleged encroachment near the Kalandari Mosque, where stones were pelted at police officers.
Notices were issued on December 29, and demolitions began after the accused failed to respond within three days.
19 accused have been arrested so far, with more identifications expected through CCTV footage.
The demolition drive targets 20 illegal slaughterhouses and four other illegal constructions, with heavy police deployment to maintain law and order.
