Uttar Pradesh announced the results of its teacher eligibility test.

More than 13.3 lakh people passed.

However, 62,028 teachers who already have jobs did not pass.

The Supreme Court has said that these teachers must pass the test to stay in service.

They are not expected to lose their jobs immediately.

They can try the test again until August 31, 2028.

The state is also preparing a separate test for working teachers.

This separate test may have less competition and could make qualifying easier.

80.07%; 5,71,435 of 7,13,648 candidates passed.
Upper-primary pass rate
71.85%; 7,59,513 of 10,57,021 candidates passed.

2,68,799 teachers appeared at the primary and upper-primary levels.

62,028 teachers did not qualify.
Primary-level working teachers
93,387 of 1,22,405 passed, a success rate of 76.29%.
Upper-primary working teachers
1,13,384 of 1,46,394 passed, a success rate of 77.45%.
Final deadline
August 31, 2028, for working teachers to pass the TET.
