BMC Struggles to Recover ₹260 Crore
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) is having a hard time collecting money from government departments.
These departments owe a total of ₹260 crore for services provided by the BMC.
The biggest debtors are the Military Cantt, which owes ₹120 crore, and the Railways, which owes ₹41 crore.
Other departments like the Public Works Department, Tourism, and the Housing Board also owe money.
The BMC has been sending reminders, but most departments have not paid.
If the BMC can collect this money, it would help improve their financial situation.
Recently, the Gas Relief Department paid ₹40 lakh, and efforts are being made to recover more dues.
BMC is unable to collect ₹260 crore in service charges from government departments.
Major defaulters include Military Cantt (₹120 crore) and Railways (₹41 crore).
Other departments like PWD, Tourism, and Housing Board also owe significant amounts.
Despite continuous reminders, most departments have not paid their dues.
