Pakistani Couple Found Adults via Medical Tests
A couple from Pakistan, Toto and Meena, said they were teenagers when they came to India.
But doctors checked their bones and teeth and found they were actually adults.
Bones and teeth are used to find out someone's age because they grow in a set way.
Doctors looked at the bones in their wrists, arms, and a special tooth called the third molar.
They saw that these bones and teeth were fully grown, which means the couple is older than they said.
This helped the police know that they are not minors and should follow the laws for adults.
A Pakistani couple claimed to be minors when they entered India but were found to be adults through medical tests.
Medical Age Estimation involves examining bones and teeth to determine age, as they follow set biological processes.
Key bones examined include carpal bones, radius, ulna, humerus, and sacrum, with ossification patterns indicating age.
The third molar's mineralization is also used to estimate age, with complete root formation indicating the person is around 21 years old.
The couple was booked under The Foreigners Act and the Passports Act after the medical examination confirmed their adult status.
