Shami Defends Citizenship in Voter Verification Hearing
Mohammed Shami, a famous Indian cricketer, had to go to a school in Kolkata to prove he is a registered voter.
He was flagged as an 'unmapped voter' because of a mistake in old records from his parents' time.
Shami showed his passport to prove he is a proud Indian and said he would come anytime he is called to verify his citizenship.
Meanwhile, Shami is also trying to get back into the Indian cricket team after an injury.
He has been playing well in domestic matches and has been traded to a new IPL team for a lot of money.

He was flagged as an 'unmapped voter' due to a clerical mismatch in his parents' 2003 records from Uttar Pradesh.

He skipped his initial hearing to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, proving his fitness with 36 wickets this season.
