JPC defers bill on PM, CM removal

JPC defers bill on PM, CM removal

A group in Parliament was looking at a bill that could remove the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers if they are detained for serious crimes.

They were about to vote on their report but decided to delay it because they need to talk to more people and discuss further.

Some members, even from the ruling party, had different opinions on parts of the bill.

The bill aims to stop corruption and criminalization in politics by automatically removing leaders detained for 30 days or more on serious charges.

The decision to defer was also influenced by the government's focus on passing another important bill during the same session.
