UP Student Dies After Alleged Harassment Over Unpaid Fees
A 24-year-old college student named Ujjwal was having trouble paying his exam fees.
He said that the college principal and some police officers were very mean to him, hurting him and making him feel ashamed because he couldn't pay the full amount.
When he couldn't take his test because of the unpaid fees, he got so upset that he set himself on fire outside the college.
He was badly burned and taken to a hospital in Delhi, where he sadly passed away.
Before this happened, Ujjwal made a video saying who he blamed and wrote a note about the mistreatment.
His family is asking for justice, and political leaders are demanding an investigation and money for his family, saying the education system is failing students.
A BA second-year student, Ujjwal Rana, died after setting himself on fire due to alleged harassment over unpaid exam fees.
The student claimed the college principal and three police personnel physically assaulted, humiliated, and threatened him for not paying the full fee.
He was denied entry to his examination because of outstanding fee dues amounting to Rs 5,250.
After sustaining severe burn injuries, he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi, where he succumbed to his injuries.
