Madhuri the Elephant Returns to Kolhapur After Treatment
Madhuri is an elephant who has lived in Kolhapur for more than 30 years.
She went to Vantara in Jamnagar because she was very sick and had trouble walking.
Her health problems included arthritis, foot disease and injuries linked to years of restricted movement.
At Vantara, veterinarians and caregivers treated her with special therapies, food and foot care.
They also watched her closely as she recovered.
Madhuri spent time with other elephants in a safe place, which helped her feel more secure.
A committee checked her health and approved her return.
She will travel to Kolhapur in a special ambulance with medical staff accompanying her.
