US Warns Middle East Travelers Amid Escalating Iran-Linked Tensions

The United States warned its citizens that travel in the Middle East could become difficult or unsafe.

Flights might be canceled, and some airspaces could close.

American officials said tensions could grow unexpectedly.

They also warned that Iran or groups supporting Iran might attack places connected to the United States.

The warning came after the U.S. military said it attacked Iranian military targets.

The U.S. said those strikes followed attempted attacks on commercial ships and American service members.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they responded by attacking U.S. military locations in several countries.

The two sides therefore gave different accounts of the attacks and their reasons.
