Odisha Extends Irrigation Scheme for Five More Years
The Odisha government is extending a program called MATY-3.0 for five more years to help farmers.
They will spend a lot of money to build new water structures and fix old ones.
This will provide more water for farming in areas that need it, making sure crops get enough water.
It will also help villages get drinking water and improve the water supply underground.
Other decisions were made to update tax rules and make it easier for food businesses to get financial help.
Odisha Cabinet approved the extension of the MATY-3.0 scheme by five years.
The government will spend Rs 2,738.00 crore between FY2025-26 to 2029-30 for the scheme.
The scheme aims to construct 3,313 new check dams and improve 3,529 existing ones.
MATY-3.0 will create 57,525 hectares of additional irrigation potential and restore 41,713 hectares.
The Cabinet also approved amendments to the Odisha Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and other proposals.
