Operation Smile Educates Indore Slum Children
In Indore, India, there's a special program called Operation Smile.
A kind police officer named Sanjay Saware started it 10 years ago to help poor children in the slums go to school.
Every day, he teaches about 55 children for free, from first grade to tenth grade.
He also teaches them about the world and how to be confident.
So far, 62 children have been able to join government schools because of his help.
The program is very important to the families in the slum because it gives them hope and shows that one person can make a big difference.
Constable Sanjay Saware started Operation Smile 10 years ago to educate underprivileged children in Indore's Lalbagh slum.
The initiative provides free classes daily from 12 pm to 3 pm for students from Classes 1 to 10.
Saware teaches around 50-55 children every day, with the number growing as word spread through the community.
Operation Smile focuses on regular subjects, general knowledge, and building awareness to help students gain confidence.
