Chiripal launches Squash Excellence programme ahead of LA 2028 Olympics
Squash will be played at the Olympics for the first time in 2028, in a city called Los Angeles.
An Indian company called the Chiripal Group wants to help Indian players get ready for that big moment.
So they started a special programme called the Squash Excellence Programme.
The programme finds young players and gives them coaching, clinics and competitions.
More than 1,000 athletes joined these events over the past year.
Right now, seven very promising players are getting extra support.
The programme works with squash groups in Gujarat and across India.
They even brought in a coach from Egypt, Andrew Shoukry, because Egypt has been the best country at squash for a long time.
A famous Indian player, Ramit Tandon, says India also needs foreign coaches and its best players training together.
The company hopes to build a strong sports culture where more people can play squash.
The Chiripal Group has launched the Squash Excellence Programme to strengthen India's talent pipeline ahead of squash's Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Over the past year, more than 1,000 athletes participated in the programme's camps, clinics and competitions.
Seven promising players are currently being supported through the initiative.
Former Egyptian professional Andrew Shoukry joined a recent camp to bring international expertise to Indian squash, noting players' hunger and changed perspective.
The programme works with the All Gujarat Squash Rackets Association and the Squash Rackets Federation of India, organising activities across Gujarat and beyond.
