Thailand School Shooting: Two Dead Including Gunman Near Bangkok
Something very scary happened at a high school in Thailand.
A student at the school started shooting a gun inside the building.
Sadly, one teacher died because of the shooting, and the student who did it also died.
Other people got hurt, too, including one teacher and three students.
Police officers and ambulance workers came very quickly to help and get everyone out safely.
Students had to leave the school fast and were very frightened.
One student said the shots first sounded like firecrackers or someone banging things, not a real gun.
The student had locked himself upstairs in the school before police got to him.
Some early news reports said many more people were hurt or killed, but police have not confirmed those bigger numbers.
Police are trying to find out why this terrible thing happened, and everyone is hoping the injured people get better soon.
A student opened fire at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Bang Kruai district, about 20 kilometres northwest of Bangkok, on Friday.
Police confirmed two deaths: a teacher and the suspected student gunman, who died by suicide after barricading himself on the third floor.
Officials said those injured included one teacher and three students.
One news report cited far higher, unconfirmed tolls of at least six killed and more than 15 injured, including three teachers and three students.
The motive remains unknown; an 18-year-old student said he initially mistook the gunfire for firecrackers.
