Madras High Court Resolves Dispute, Urges Shared Domestic Duties

The Madras High Court heard a disagreement between a married doctor couple.

The couple had two children.

The wife wanted the marriage to continue, while the husband asked for a divorce.

The judges said taking care of a home is valuable work.

They also said husbands can share household duties, just as wives may do so.

The court suggested that sharing these responsibilities could help families and marriages.

The husband agreed to pay ₹2.5 crore for the children’s welfare.

Because both sides agreed, the court granted them a divorce.
