Bidhannagar BMC Project Aims to Provide Filtered Water to 3.2 Lakh
The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is working on a project to provide clean, filtered water to about 320,000 people in the Rajarhat-Gopalpur area.
This project costs around Rs 333 crore and includes building new water storage tanks and pipelines.
Currently, many people in this area get their water from underground sources.
The new project will supply filtered water from the New Town water treatment plant.
The project is expected to finish in two years and is funded by the government's AMRUT scheme.
Residents are hoping for better water quality, as the current water supply has high iron levels.
The BMC is also planning to improve the existing water pipelines in Salt Lake.
BMC is executing a Rs 333 crore project for filtered water supply.
The project aims to benefit approximately 3.2 lakh residents in wards 1-21.
Filtered water will be supplied from the New Town water treatment plant.
The project involves setting up overhead tanks and underground reservoirs.
The project's completion is anticipated within two years.
