McDonald's Arrest Reveals Suspect's Evading Plans
A man named Luigi Mangione was arrested at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania after someone thought he looked like the person who had shot a CEO in New York City.
The police found a gun in his backpack that matched the one used in the shooting.
They also found notes and plans that showed he was trying to avoid being caught.
The notes included things like plucking his eyebrows, buying less noticeable shoes, and moving around at night to avoid cameras.
The whole thing happened while Christmas music was playing in the background at the McDonald's.
A McDonald's manager called 911 after customers suspected a man resembled the shooter of a recent CEO murder.
Police officers identified the man as Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the high-profile shooting of Brian Thompson.
Mangione was arrested after a 3D-printed gun was found in his backpack, matching the weapon used in the Manhattan shooting.
Notes and plans found in Mangione's backpack revealed his strategies to evade capture, including changing his appearance and avoiding surveillance cameras.
Mangione's lawyers are challenging the legality of the search and seizure of evidence, arguing that police did not have a warrant.
