TDP–YSRCP face-off heats up ahead of monsoon Assembly session

TDP–YSRCP face-off heats up ahead of monsoon Assembly session

There is a big meeting hall called the Assembly, where elected leaders make decisions for their state.

Right now, two big political groups are having an argument about this meeting hall.

One group, the YSRCP, wants a special title called the 'principal opposition party.'

The other group, called the TDP, runs the Assembly and says the YSRCP did not win enough seats to earn that title.

The YSRCP has not been coming to the Assembly for almost two years because it is unhappy.

It says it will attend on the first day but leave after the Governor speaks.

The person who runs the Assembly, called the Speaker, says leaders must come to work and do their jobs.

He even said leaders who stay away should not be paid their salaries.

The YSRCP says it will not be scared away and will keep asking for its rights.

The Assembly session begins on August 17, and both sides still disagree.
