Sikkim Expands Courts to Bring Justice Closer to People

Sikkim has opened an additional court in Namchi.

The chief minister said more courts can help people get justice closer to home.

This is especially useful for people living in rural and remote places.

They may not need to travel as far to attend court.

The new court was opened by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang and Chief Justice A Muhamed Mustaque.

The government says it wants courts to be fair, efficient and easy to reach.

Tamang also discussed changes to court appointments that give priority to eligible Sikkimese candidates.

He said new districts are also helping bring government services closer to residents.
