MCD Special Meeting Targets Better Waste Segregation and Cleanliness

MCD Special Meeting Targets Better Waste Segregation and Cleanliness

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi held a meeting about keeping Delhi cleaner.

Officials and councillors discussed how to handle rubbish more effectively.

They said people should separate different kinds of waste where it is created.

This is called segregation at source.

Separating waste can make collection, recycling and reuse easier.

The meeting also discussed rules for large waste-producing organisations.

Dr. Monika Pant said citizens, local groups and elected representatives must work together.

The Corporation also wants better support and safety for sanitation workers.
