Modi Chairs Fourth CCS Meeting on West Asia Conflict
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with top ministers to talk about how the war in West Asia is hurting India’s oil, gas, and fertiliser supplies.
They said India has more than enough oil and is making sure factories keep running.
The government is also trying to use more clean energy like solar power.
Modi asked for a plan to help Indian sailors who work on ships that might be in danger.
He wants a system that watches the situation closely and helps people quickly if something bad happens.
PM Narendra Modi chaired the fourth special Cabinet Committee on Security meeting to review West Asia conflict impacts on energy, fertiliser supplies, and Indian seafarers.
Ministers confirmed that LPG sources are diversified, crude oil stocks keep CPSE refineries running above 100% capacity, and PNG connections are expanding.
The government plans to accelerate renewable energy, LNG import, and national gas grid expansion to reduce fossil fuel dependence.
Modi directed a coordinated mechanism to monitor developments and provide timely assistance to seafarers and Indian citizens abroad.
The meeting highlighted disruptions in key shipping routes (Strait of Hormuz, Bab al-Mandab, Black Sea) affecting India’s 88% energy imports and fertiliser supply for the Rabi season.
