ProSiebenSat.1 Agrees to MFE's Improved Takeover Bid
A company called ProSiebenSat.1, which runs TV channels, is being taken over by another company called MFE.
MFE already owns some of ProSiebenSat.1 and wants to buy the rest.
MFE offered more money this time, about €8.15 per share, so the people in charge of ProSiebenSat.1 said it's a good deal.
MFE thinks that by combining, the new company will be better at competing with bigger companies, especially those from the U.S. and China.
ProSiebenSat.1 believes the combined company can save money over five years.
Shareholders have until August 13th to decide if they want to sell their shares to MFE.
ProSiebenSat.1's boards recommend shareholders accept MFE's takeover offer.
MFE's improved bid values ProSieben shares at approximately €8.15.
The offer values ProSieben at around €2 billion.
ProSieben rejected MFE's initial bid but accepted the improved offer.
The deadline to accept MFE's offer is August 13 at 6 pm ET.
