NFRA Expands Hiring to Strengthen Audit and Technology Oversight
The National Financial Reporting Authority, or NFRA, checks whether audits and financial reports are done properly.
It wants to hire people for 24 new positions.
These jobs include audit, finance, law, management and technology work.
Some workers will examine financial statements and audit quality.
Others will help with cybersecurity, data and computer systems.
A parliamentary panel said NFRA had filled only 32 of its 69 approved positions by FY25.
NFRA is also inspecting more audit firms than before.
Many senior jobs will be filled temporarily or by bringing in officials from other public organizations.
The National Financial Reporting Authority plans to fill 24 positions across audit, technology, management, secretarial and administrative functions.
Senior roles will focus on financial statement reviews, audit quality, accounting and auditing standards, investigations, finance, accountancy and law.
The recruitment drive also seeks specialists in cybersecurity, data management, IT infrastructure and information-technology strategy.
A parliamentary panel reported in March 2026 that only 32 of NFRA’s 69 sanctioned positions were filled as of FY25.
NFRA published 10 audit-firm inspection reports in March 2026, compared with five in 2023, while most new senior roles will use deputation or short-term contracts.
