West Bengal Allots Land to Websol for Large Solar Plant
The West Bengal government gave Websol land to build a new solar manufacturing plant.
The land covers about 54.20 acres at Falta Industrial Park.
Websol plans to spend between Rs 1,500 crore and Rs 1,700 crore on the project.
The facility will make solar cells and solar modules.
It is planned to have 4 GW of capacity for each product.
The project will be built in two phases.
Websol chose the area because it is near its existing operations and has skilled workers and suppliers.
