Assam Plans State-of-the-Art Wildlife Safari and Rescue Centre in Dibrugarh

Assam plans to build a large wildlife centre in Dibrugarh district.

It will be built in the Namdang Reserved Forest.

The project is expected to cost Rs 534 crore.

The centre will help rescue, treat and care for wild animals.

The first part will have spaces for animals such as tigers, rhinoceroses, leopards and bears.

It will also include a veterinary hospital.

The second part will have animals such as lions, cheetahs, zebras and hippos.

Officials say the centre could support research, tourism and jobs in the region.
