India's Security Focus: Air Defence, Self-Reliance
India is working on new ways to protect itself from threats in the air.
On Independence Day, the government announced the Sudarshan Chakra Mission, a new air defense system that will be ready by 2035.
This system is like a shield and will be able to take down different types of threats, such as airplanes and missiles, from far away.
India is also creating its own long-range missiles to further boost its defense capabilities and self-reliance.
At the same time, PM Modi is asking everyone to support local businesses and products to make India stronger.
PM Modi announced the launch of the Sudarshan Chakra Mission, a long-range air-defence system, on Independence Day.
The Sudarshan Chakra Mission aims to be operational by 2035 to enhance national security.
The system is based on the Russian S-400 platform and will be able to engage aircraft, cruise missiles, drones and ballistic missiles.
India is also developing Project Kusha, an indigenous long-range surface-to-air missile program.
