Kolkata Art Exhibition Celebrates Disabled Artists

Kolkata Art Exhibition Celebrates Disabled Artists

There's a special art show happening in Kolkata called 'My Voice Through Art'.

It's from July 23 to 25 at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture in Golpark.

The show is all about celebrating the creativity of artists who have disabilities.

These artists are from India and Sweden and they've been working together on this project since 2023.

You can see their art from 11am to 6pm each day.

Some of the artists include Putul Biswas who needs help painting but makes amazing art, Deep Dolui who uses colors to express himself, and Aniket Mukherjee who makes black-and-white sketches.

The show also remembers Barsha Bhattacharya, an artist who communicated through special methods and made abstract paintings.

Mampi Singh, who has cerebral palsy and hearing impairment, will also show her colorful art.

This event is organized by the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, INUTI, and Stockholm University's Department of Special Education.

It's a great way to see how art can be a powerful way for everyone to express themselves.
