SC Rejects Commando's Plea in Dowry Death Case
A man who was convicted of killing his wife tried to get out of going to jail by saying he was a Black Cat commando.
He mentioned his involvement in Operation Sindoor.
However, the Supreme Court said that being a soldier doesn't mean he can avoid punishment for a crime at home.
The court explained that military service doesn't protect him from the law, so he must still surrender and serve his sentence.
The court is reviewing his appeal but ordered him to surrender.
Supreme Court rejected a Black Cat commando's defense citing participation in Operation Sindoor.
Baljinder Singh, convicted of dowry murder, claimed immunity due to his military service.
The court stated military service does not provide immunity for domestic crimes.
Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and K. Vinod Chandran presided over the case.
