White House Restores Board for Nuclear Worker Claims
The White House has brought back a group that helps nuclear workers who got sick.
These workers were exposed to a lot of radiation and can get money and health care if their illness is linked to their job.
This group, called the HHS Advisory Board, was temporarily stopped earlier this year, causing problems for workers trying to get help.
The board will now keep working until at least 2027.
This decision is good news for many workers who have been waiting for their claims to be reviewed.
The White House restored an advisory board for nuclear weapons worker claims.
The board was suspended earlier in the year by the Department of Health and Human Services.
Eligible workers are entitled to a $150,000 lump-sum payment and medical insurance.
The advisory board was set to expire but will continue work until 2027.
